Sample Resumes To Help You

Use the following sample resumes to get ideas and to get a sense of how an entire resume fits together. Over 50 sample resumes have been used to help you. Various fonts (typefaces) have been used so you can determine which you like best. The name of the font appears at the top of each resume. Times New Roman (virtually identical to Times and Times Roman) and Arial (virtually identical to Helvetica) are the typefaces people most commonly use for their resumes.

Because this book presents the basic principles of writing an effective resume, it does not provide examples of resumes for all job titles. The principles given here can be applied or adapted to fit any job title. Feel free to borrow a phrase here and there, but make your resume your own. Instill it with your own flavor and character. Make it personal. And sell yourself.

As you read the resumes, notice that the people being described seem like real, living, highly capable people, a quality rarely found in resumes. Strive to make your resume as interesting as theirs. Do everything possible to bring results into your resume.

Note: Many of these resumes were originally two pages. They were reduced in length to enable you to concentrate on key areas.
