Information Systems Manager—Effectively organized a reliable computer environment within budget and on schedule for this $220 million manufacturer with 950 nodes. Planned and designed the network architecture and set company-wide IT policies as company grew four-fold. Provide consulting services to formulate complex IT solutions for corporate clients.

·         Led IS Department team of five professionals to build a reliable, high-performing and convenient multi-protocol multi-platform (10 Windows NT servers, 12 UNIX servers and more then 50 SUN & HP workstations) computer environment for the company.

·         Significantly increased the throughput of the corporate LAN and reduced the downtime by 90% through the redesign of the corporate network and the use of innovative technology.

·         Cut corporate’s computer environment per user costs 35% by formulating and implementing cost effective IT solutions for the company. 

·         Manage multiple IT projects, including the implementation of fault tolerant servers with RAID Arrays and backup and company’s Internet access.

·         Analyze the network utilization, design network architecture, and have managed the total rebuilding of the corporate LAN.

Component ArchitectInformation Systems Architecture Group. Provided project leadership in support of the integration of computing systems. Interfaced with internal organizations and established program objectives and requirements. Provided program information in support of Division forecasts and updates to the operating plans. Provided schedule direction and reported program performance status of assigned responsibility to upper management.

Information Systems Manager—For this specialty steel products distributor, oversee the information systems for eight southwestern branches with combined annual sales of $130 million. Supervise a staff of six. Corporate frequently implements IS processes that were first utilized in the Southwest Region such as sales analysis, inventory, production management, and office automation. Received performance bonus for completing all projects on time, under budget, and with customer satisfaction well above expectations.

Redesigned the international division’s quotation, order generation, order tracking, letter-of-credit, wire prepayment tracking, and shipping documentation processes. Significantly improved customer service through customized, automated quotations. Substantially increased order accuracy, on time shipping, and invoice accuracy. The IS department has increased staffing only 12% while region sales have increased 64% in the past four years.

Played a key role in developing the Tooling Data Warehouse system. From legacy data sources to a target data warehouse, participated in the Design Build Team for the project. Identified and analyzed source data models and definitions, and combined source data models into an integrated data model with definitions. Developed specifications for transforming source data into warehouse data.

Facilitated and conducted demonstrations and presentations of the data warehouse technology and product tools to numerous internal customers. Established the system infrastructure process by ensuring that data warehouse technology development satisfied the computing architecture design and customer business design.

Received the Special Recognition Award for my outstanding contributions toward the data warehouse project. Established key strategies for the creation of the architecture and standards. The project team set a new direction for legacy systems modernization and data distribution management, while migrating to an affordable and responsible computing architecture.

Systems AnalystComputing Management Organization.  Coordinated a conversion from IV Phase hardware and software to the HP 9000/EZ-C package. Users had been experiencing significant downtime due to failing hardware. Identified requirements of users and determined how to convert the software design screens. Supported training for 50 end users, installed the software, and integrated a new keyboard. Project received the Pride In Excellence Award for its technical competence, flexibility, and outstanding teamwork.
