EMPLOYMENT
As chairperson
of a department with fourteen instructors, maintained a high quality department
in the face of budgetary cutbacks. Evaluated all new programs, developed class
schedules, oriented new teachers, assisted substitute teachers, purchased all
supplies for the department, and served on the principal’s advisory board.

Instituted and maintained
the Russian language program at a new high school and created individualized
instruction packages for advanced-level German students. Chairman of the
foreign language department for the past five years at this high school with
1200 students. Member of the district foreign language curriculum committee for
formulating and writing district goals.

plan and implement functional, individualized educational programs for the
profoundly retarded student. Informally assess their progress and adapt their
programs accordingly. Emphasize the skill areas of self-help, socialization,
communication, pre-vocation, and home living. Develop thorough Individual
Education Plans. Highly involved with the coordination of support personnel in
program development.
Assistant Principal—For this 1400-student
high school, responsible for master scheduling, student registration,
budgeting, teacher evaluation, facilities and grounds, attendance, and
discipline.
Planned
and instituted a computerized master scheduling and registration process that
saves over 500 teacher hours per year and has reduced student requests for
changes by 60%. Improved the trust and
understanding between administrators and teachers by making budget allocations
more equitably and by meeting all high priority needs. Developed a coordinated, district-wide
Emergency Preparedness Plan for 35 buildings in the district with individual
Command Centers. Buildings are now
fully prepared to deal with all types of emergencies including earthquakes,
floods, and terrorist action.
Established
a teacher evaluation procedure that has increased observation time in the
classroom by more than 50% and has produced better administrator-teacher
relationships. Introduced procedures that have increased teacher-student
contact time. These efforts have led directly to improved attendance, a better
campus atmosphere, and higher student test scores.
Substitute Teacher—For the Lake Timagunga
School District, have taught kindergarten through sixth grade, library, and
resource room. Responsible for all aspects of the classroom including planning,
preparing, and presenting lessons. Recognized as a very effective substitute
who is well prepared, maintains excellent discipline, and brings real learning
to the classroom.
