EMPLOYMENT
Art
Therapist/Program Coordinator - Work with chronic
schizophrenics aged 27-80. Act as coordinator of a new program, as well as art
therapist/case manager. Lead twelve therapy groups weekly and maintain an
active load of individual clients using both psychotherapy and art therapy.
Participate in team meetings and have responsibility for case load treatment
plans and progress notes.
As
program coordinator, developed a program to bridge the gap between two already
established resocialization programs with patients functioning at widely
divergent levels. Produced a full client load through extensive outreach to
local agencies and social workers. With each intake evaluated client needs and
produced patient plans. Referred patients to psychologists, social workers, and
group programs. Program has been considered highly successful by Center
administrators.
Therapist II—Facilitate supportive
therapy groups and rehabilitation treatment services for the seriously and
persistently mentally ill, the elderly, and the mentally retarded. Complete
intakes, quarterly treatment plan updates and comprehensive notes, daily
progress notes, and Title XIX annual treatment plans for continued care. Utilize
music and art therapy in group settings to enhance clients' response and level
of functioning.
Admissions Specialist—Maintain full capacity for
the chemical dependency program. Receive intake calls, assess adolescents for
chemical dependency, determine appropriateness for admission, and complete
admissions for both inpatient and recovery house programs. Interview parents of
clients and consult with referring agencies and professionals to ensure
clients' needs are met. Have played a key role in doubling the census and
achieving full capacity.
Counselor—As a phone counselor, provide up-to-date and
appropriate drug and alcohol information. Make referrals for treatment
facilities and other drug/alcohol resources throughout the state. Provide
crisis intervention and complete all DAP notes.
